“I felt like we connected immediately because you are a warm, open, trustworthy, safe, clear person and professional. You made me feel valued from the first communication. Our work was focused, creative, and adapted to my needs/circumstances, especially as they changed during our work period. Wishing that my employer provided professional development funds so that I could continue our work. That said: I have gained clarity from just a few sessions, and am so grateful for you, Andi!!”
“Andi pays a lot of attention to detail, she empathizes very well with other students, and knows how to pivot conversations and topics to make them more relatable. Very few mentors have this, but her mentality and abilities as a coach make her classes worth taking.”
“Andi Hess is one of the most impactful mentors I have had the privilege to have in my life. She is capable of inspiring with laudable humility, empowering with immeasurable empathy, and educating with remarkable intellectual and pedagogical skills. She was all those things to me and the very reason I got through my undergrad and went on to achieve the successes I have.”
“Andi has a remarkable ability to see solutions most people miss. Whether it’s with business colleagues, university students, or professional clients, Andi is an incredible mentor. Her authenticity unlocks possibilities in everyone around her, and she’s able to pull out solutions to vexing problems that stump most people. It’s part of her interdisciplinary superpower. I worked with Andi and watched her magic firsthand. Her students adore her, her colleagues revere her, and the international community envelopes her. Why? Because straight and simple, Andi innovates. If you want to revamp your career, grab her fast while she can squeeze you in.”
Mindset coach for creatives, witches, weirdos, and misfits!
I absolutely love life so I’ve spent mine trying out tons of stuff. I am sure I must hold the record for most random jobs held. I’ve been a productivity consultant, but I’ve also been a professional scrapbooker.
For one of my favorites, I volunteered at the zoo and my job was to hold the hissing cockroaches while I told you about how clean cockroaches actually are. I’ve worked for Target and Starbucks and Sephora but I was also a regional trainer for Radio Shack.
I was on the wrestling team in high school. I almost got a degree in interior design. And psychology. And astrophysics. I did get degrees in international development and interdisciplinary studies.
I’ve raised and butchered chickens but I’ve also been known to dress head to toe in designer goodies. I didn’t leave the country til I was 28, and then I went and lived in Europe every year for 6 months at a time. I can order a meal in 8 languages, but I can’t remember my name before coffee.
My superpower is seeing things differently. I help people connect the dots they can’t see and chart a unique path to their passion and purpose.
I’ve spent the last 10 years in a university classroom, walking each of my students through a unique journey to discover their passions. I’ve taught classes on art journaling and Eastern European nationalism. I’m equally at home talking astrology or astronomy. I’ve raised 3 kids and now I spend my days cuddling with my Italian Greyhound mix puppy and playing with stickers. I can never figure out how to describe who I am. I’m just me.
Right before Covid hit, I was leading a Study Abroad program with a group of my university students in Croatia, Bosnia, and Serbia - my favorite places in Europe. I designed the program myself, with every single detail laid out as I would have wanted as a student on a dream program. It was an amazing experience, my students reported - gut-wrenching, eye-opening - truly life-changing, and I was so proud to run it. It felt like my calling, but it was also ego.
I was so, so high on life, but I was also running myself ragged being pulled in all the different directions. I ended up with a bad infection and was in the hospital in Serbia for a week, complete with a liquid diet on a (not-so-sterile) IV course of antibiotics. The university actually had to fly me home in the middle of the program and the group had to go on without me! Luckily I had a backup who was able to take over and guide the students, but for me, this was a major ego-death moment!
I spent the last 2 years closing out most of my commitments and doing shadow work. I've been working on my triggers, my ego, and my sense of purpose. I've always known my purpose was to help others understand where they fit, because I know what it feels like to not fit anywhere. For 10 years, I've been able to do that as a university professor, and I've enjoyed so much of that, but it always felt sort of limited. I knew I wanted more. I've been able to connect with the artist and planner communities on social media, and I'm so grateful for all the amazingly creative and witchy and weird and beautiful souls I've met.
So, I quit my job.
Now, I'm building this community. I know there are others out there like me, and maybe like you? I want to create a space for those of us who know we want to surround ourselves with others who want to achieve that high-vibration lifestyle and access success coaching and support, but don't quite fit into that Boss Babe vibe that is everywhere in the productivity space right now.
I believe there is a place for you. And for me. Because I'm building it. |
